The TAP fund application for Vehicle Activated Signs was agreed at the Southern Link meeting 10 September but there appears to be problems with the supplier. The Clerk will seek to resolve these issues.
SEPTEMBER 2015 UPDATE. So far the Speed Watch committee has 9 volunteers (*****). Ideally 12 are needed to demonstrate to the Police we have a viable team that is worth training and is likely to be sustainable. There has been a provisional response from Burrator PC Clerk who expects Burrator Parish Council will be interested in joining the scheme and a response from Plasterdown Parish Council is awaited.
The revised TAP fund application for Vehicle Activated Signs has been submitted and a decision is anticipated on 10 September. The proposed signs are portable, displaying ‘your Speed is…’ with a narrow panel in British Racing Green, battery powered, mounted on a trolley with a trigger speed of 40mph. The sign will record the number of times it has been triggered but not the actual speed of traffic.
