Dear Nigel,
I start this latest News Bulletin with the very sad news of the death of Past President, Joan Fawdington. Joan was a long serving member and the Clerk to Scraptoft Parish Council in Leicestershire. She was a former Secretary and Chairman of the Leicestershire Branch and was elected national President in 1992. The funeral service is being held at Loughborough crematorium this Thursday at noon when President Peter Young, accompanied by members of the branch, will be representing the Society.
Final details have just been announced of the full programme for IIMC’s Brussels Symposium on 2nd and 3rd June which your Society is supporting. Click here to view the full programme and register. The early bird discounted registration fee closes on 25th March.
Finally, may I remind you that the online Ballot about possible constitutional changes closes this Friday. If you have not yet voted you can do so here.

Dear Sir/Madam
I am writing to you as you have previously expressed an interest in the future of the Forest Inn.
As you are aware, following the departure of the previous lessees in July 2014, the Duchy has been marketing a new lease of the Forest Inn.
Whilst the Duchy has offered to co-invest with a new lessee to address the required refurbishment of the property, we have not been successful in finding a new occupier. Mindful of the need to ensure that the property is not subjected to further decline whilst it is empty, the Duchy has taken the decision to also offer the freehold of the property in the hope this will offer an alternative basis of tenure that will attract new operator.
The marketing of the property is being re-launched and we hope that on this occasion we are successful.
Yours faithfully
Tom Stratton
